किसी से किसी भी प्रकार की अपेक्षा नहीं रखना पुन्य है । जितने समय हम भगवत भाव में जिये ब्रह्म भाव में जीना पुन्य है ।प्रसन्न चित्त रहना पुन्य है ।
Living without expectation from anyone is punya. Living with devotion to and with thoughts of the scriptures and of God is punya. Being happy and content is punya.

जीवन में सहज और स्वाभाविक जीना पुन्य है ।
गृहणा नफ़रत पाप है । प्रेम पुन्य है ।

Being yourself and being true to yourself in life is itself punya, goodness. Hatred is sinful. Love is punya.

पुन्य माने कोइ परम शुभ, लाभ नहीं ।
जितने समय हम पवित्र हो यह पुन्य है । हम स्वच्छ होते है । पवित्र कितने होते है?

Punya is supreme meritoriousness / auspiciousness, not material gains. Those times that we are pure, this is punya. We may be bodily clean, but how pure are we?

व्यक्ति जैसा भी है जब एक परम तत्व का शरणागत हो जाता है तो उसे कुछ करने को बचता नहीं ।
It is of no significance who the individual is or what he is like - there is nothing left to be done once he surrenders to a Supreme element.

जग्य एक यात्रा है शान्ति रूपी भक्ति प्राप्त करने की । जग्य में तीन विद्या
- कोई भी काम करो जीवन में यग्न भाव से करो ।
- गुरु निष्ठा ।
- अहंकार का भंग ।

Yagna is a journey to achieve bhakti (devotional love), the real peace. There are three ways of doing this:
- any work that you do in life, do it with a sense of offering, of love.
- faith, devotion and belief in your guru.
- letting go of and breaking your ego.

A flower blooms in quietude; man's inner self also blossoms in solitude. Each one of us should find our own space and solitude.

प्रसन्न रहने के लिये मौसम की जरुरत नहीं है मन की जरुरत है ।
Our happiness is not dependent on outer circumstances but on our own self, own state of mind.

संसार छुडा दे वो गुरु नहीं । संसार का सार समझा दे वो गुरु ॥
He who teaches us how to renounce and leave the world is not a Guru. He who allows us to understand the tune and frequency of the world - he is the Guru.

सहजता जैसी कोई साधना नहीं है ।
There is no discipline comparable to being yourself, to being true to your own nature.

जब भीतरी प्रसन्नता शुरु हो जाये तो समझना हमने मधु चख लिया ।
When you sense innate joy permeating from within, know that you have tasted the divine nectar.

बेहोशी दे वो मधुपान नहीं । अपने मौलिक होश में ला दे उसका नाम मधुपान ।
Madhupaan, the taste of Nectar, is not that which disorients us; rather, it awakens us to our true self.

वैराग्य विवेक जन्य हो । परिस्थिति जन्य नहीं ।
Renouncement should be borne of discretion, not out of a situation.

निष्फ़ल होना गुनाह नहीं । निरुत्साहित होना गुनाह है ॥
Failure is no crime, but being without zeal and enthusiasm is.

सभी प्रकार की अभावता रहे फ़िर भी त्रुप्त रहे उसका नाम फ़कीर ।
Fakir is one who is content and satisfied in the midst of total scarcity.

भगवान सुख स्वरुप है तो उसके अंश होने के कारण हम भी सुख स्वरुप है ।
God is the embodiment of joy; and as a part of Him, we are also naturally beings of happiness.

भक्ति विधी है भजन के महाल में प्रवेश करने के लिये ।
Devotion is a technique, a method to gain entry into the grand palace of Bhajan.

भजन से बडा कोई सारथी नहीं हो सकता ।
भक्ति भजन नहीं है । भक्ति भजन तक पहुंचने का मार्ग है ।
भक्ति एक विधी है एक प्रक्रिया है ।

There is no Charioteer more supreme than Bhajan (singing for God).
Bhakti (Devotion) is not Bhajan. Bhakti is a way to reach Bhajan; it is a process and a procedure.

मीरा ने जो गाया उसमें क्ऱुष्ण की आवाज थी ।
Krishna's voice is within Mira's singing.

दो काम करना होगा - बहिर स्वच्छता और भीतरी पवित्रता ।
Two things need to be done - outer cleanliness and inner purity

विश्वास ही विश्वनाथ है ।
Faith itself is Vishvanath, the Supreme Element, Lord Shiva.

परमात्मा तक पहुँचने का मतलब है अपने तक पहुँचना ।
To reach the Supreme is to reach our own inner self.

मीरा के प्रेम सरोवर में डूबने के लिये पाँच सीड़ीया छोड़नी प़डेगी -
१. दल की सीड़ी - दल की सीड़ी पार करनी होगी सच्चे अध्यात्मिक होने के लिये ।
२. निज बल की सीड़ी - निज बल से नहीं होगा कृपा बल से होगा ।
३. खालों का संग छोडो - अपने खल को भी छोडो ।
४. शिकायतें छोडो - परनिन्दा भी और नीज निन्दा भी छूटे ।
५. लोक लाज छोडो - लोग क्या कहेंगे ।

To immerse in the lake of Meera's love, we must step down from these five steps -
1. Leave Dal (Sampradaye) - to become truly spiritual and to leave groups
2. Leave one's own efforts - it is Kripa, the power of blessings, that is working.
3. Leave the wicked - including our own wicked tendencies.
4. Leave complaints - criticising others and our own self.
5. Leave the fear of society - what others will say.

जिसको बहुत सुन्दर बोलना हो सफ़ल वक्ता होना हो उसको कालिका की उपासना करनी चाहिये ।
One who wishes to be a successful orator and excellent speaker should worship Goddess Kalika.

भगवत कथा सामूहिक प्रार्थना का एक प्रकार है लेकिन सामूहिक प्रार्थना में प्रदर्शन ना हो ।
Bhagwat Katha is type of group prayer gathering; but it should not become an exhibition or a show.

पाँच निष्ठा से प्रत्येक साधक को गुजरना पडता है -
गुरु निष्ठा । नाम निष्ठा । शास्त्र निष्ठा । शिव निष्ठा । शब्द निष्ठा ।

Five Nishthas, allegiances every sadhak has to pass through:
- Guru nishtha, to one's Guru.
- Naam nishtha, to the name
- Shastra nishtha, to the Scripture
- Shiv nishtha, to the Supreme Element / God.
- Shabad nishtha, towards the word.

अधिक काम का भोग बमन कर सकता है संम्यक्ता आवश्यक है तुलसी हमें औषधि देते है जिससे पच जाये, जो बमन से बचाये ।
Too much indulgence in desires can cause regurgitation, a vomit. A controlled middle path is must. Tulsidasji shows us a medicine which helps in digestion.

हर जगह संयम आवश्यक है काम खराब नहीं कामी खराब है, लोभ खराब नहीं लोभी खराब है, रिवाल्वर खराब नहीं चलाने वाला खराब है ।
Control and discipline are required everywhere. Passion is not bad but the lustful is condemnable; Desires are not bad but the gluttonous is; Revolver is not bad as such but the one who uses it to kill is.

कॄष्ण ब्रह्म है । कॄष्ण ने गीता में कहा है धर्म अविरुद्ध काम मैं हूँ ।
अन्न ब्रह्म है । अन्न ज्यादा खा लो तो बमन हो सकता है ।
काम ब्रह्म है पर अतिरेक बमन करवा देगा ।

Krishna is Brahma, the Supreme. In the Gita, He has declared 'I am the Passions/desires', under the sanctions of religion. Food is Brahma, but over-eating can cause sickness. Desires, too, are part of the Supreme Element yet excessive indulgence can result in regurgitation.

व्यासपीठ कीचड में पडे हीरे को धोने का काम करती है ।
The Vyaspeeth cleanses those diamonds that have fallen into the mud.

सत्य कब बोला उसकी चिंता मत करो । जो बोला गया वो सत्य होना चाहिये ।
Don't dwell on when the truth was spoken. What is important is that what has been said is the truth.

संत के लक्षण
१. तंत ना करे वो संत
२. जो अनंत है वो संत
३. जिसको महंत बनने की लालसा ना हो वो संत
४. जिसका कोई अंगत ना हो वो संत
५. जिसकी कोई पंगत नहीं वो संत

The characteristics of a saint:
1. One who does not get into argument or conflict.
2. One who had no end, is beyond the physical.
3. One who has no interest in power or any position.
4. One who has no favourite few.
5. One who has no specific group.

भक्त को भगवान की जरुरत नहीं है, भगवान को भक्त की जरुरत है ।
A Bhakta does not need Bhagwan; rather. Bhagwan needs the Bhakta.

भगवान दिखता नहीं इस लिये मुल्यवान है ।
It is because God cannot be seen that He is significant.

कभी भी किसी की, किसी से तुलना मत करना ।
जो आदमी अपने होने में संतुष्ट नहीं है वो विश्व में कहीं संतोष नहीं पा सकता ।

Never ever compare anyone with anybody. One who is not satisfied with his own self can not find satisfaction anywhere in the world.

चेतना जिस दिशा में झुके, झुका देनी चाहिये ।
Let the consciousness flow / bent where ever it naturally does.

कर्म के दायरे में विधि निषेध होते है । पर भक्ति के दायरे में प्रेम में कोई विधि निषेध नहीं होता ।
Rules and prohibitions exist in the field of karma, but in the sphere of devotion and love, there are no regulations.

धर्म के धारण का अर्थ है कि व्यक्ति धैर्यवान हो ।
Taking on dharma means becoming dhairywan, learning the art of patience and forbearance.

सुंदरता बाहर की व्याख्या पर निर्भर नहीं होती । सुंदरता भीतर की अवस्था पर निर्भर होती है ।
Beauty does not depend on external details; Beauty reflects the inner disposition, the internal state of one's being.

अपने गुरु कृपा से पाई हृदय की द्रष्टि से शास्त्र दर्शन हो ।
Read and engage with the spiritual texts using the innermost vision you have gained from the blessings of your Guru.

इन आँखो से प़ढा जाता है इन आँखो से पाया नहीं जाता । जब हृदय की आँखो से शास्त्र का दर्शन होने लगे तब बुद्धि निर्मल होती है ।
With our eyes we can see and read, not realise or attain. It is when we read the scriptures with our heart, our innermost eyes, that our intellect becomes pure.

पूरी दुनियाँ को कोई प्रसन्न नहीं कर सकता । खुद को प्रसन्न रखना और रहना सीखो । कोई भी घटना घटे जीवन में प्रसन्न ही रहो । प्रसन्न रहने की कुंजी । आग्रह मुक्त चित्त शिकायत मुक्त चित्त पवित्र चित्त ।
Nobody can make the whole world happy. Learn to keep your own self happy and remain happy under all circumstances in life. The key to being happy is a non-insisting mind, non-complaining mind, and a pure mind.

अपने विवेक का ध्यान रखे । विवेक मिलता है केवल बुद्ध पुरुष के संग से ।
Let us take care of our Vivek (power of discretion); Vivek (wisdom) is obtained only through the company of saints and enlightened masters.

आदमी का पूर्णत: संचालक उसका सदगुरु होता है । शिष्य के पास ग्रंथियाँ होती है सदगुरु के पास चाबियाँ होती है ।
Sadguru is the complete director for his disciple. The disciple is filled with knots and the Sadguru has the keys.

धर्म आदमी के जन्म को सुधार देता है । अध्यात्म आदमी की मृत्यु को सुधार देता है । नीतिशास्त्र जीवन को सुधारता है । भक्ति जन्म को भी सुधारती है मृत्यु को भी सुधारती है और अनिष्टों से भी मुक्त करती है ।
Righteousness/ Having a faith improves a man's birth; Spirituality improves a man's death; Ethical philosophy improves his life. Devotion improves all the three- his life, his death and liberates him from all evils.

मीरा भक्ति का आठवाँ अवतार है । मीरा के पास ज्ञान का दीपक भी है भक्ति का मणि भी है वैराग्य की विभूती भी है ।
Meera is the eighth incarnation of devotion. Meera is endowed with the lamp of wisdom, the jewel of devotion and is abound with renunciation.

गंगा सिर्फ़ नदी ही नहीं है । वो हमारी भारतीय संस्कृति सभ्यता का प्रतीक है ।
Ganga is not merely a river; Ganga is a symbol of our culture and civilisation.

प्रति क्रिया मत करो । प्रति भाव दो ।
Never react back; rather, give your suggestion and idea.

भक्ति ऐसा तत्व है की जो भजन करे उसको तुरिया अवस्था की उपलब्धी के लिये कोई योग नहीं करना पडता ।
To reach the fourth stage of consciousness, a devotee does not need to do any such yog. Such is the potency of devotion.

जीव जब जाता है तो उसके साथ उसका भजन जाता है । भय से कुभय से कोई भी तरीके से भजन लो ।
When a being departs, his bhajan goes along with him; out of fear or for any reason, do bhajan (prayers).

तुम्हारा लक्ष्य अगर बडा हो और उस पे हंसने वाले न हो तो समझना लक्ष्य अभी छोटा है ।
If you are aiming for the highest and none are laughing at you, know that your goal is not high enough.

हमारे पास पैसे कम हो जाये कोइ बात नहीं मगर भक्ति मार्ग में हमारे आँसु अगर कम हो जाये तो समझना हम गरीब हो गये ।
With less money, we can manage; but in the path of devotion, if we can no longer cry, understand that we have lost something, that we have become poor.

भजनानंद को चाहिए वो भीड में भी अपना एकान्त चुन ले ।
A bhakta finds and relishes in his own solitude even within a crowd.

उपदेश सकोप ना दिया जाये । बोलने वाला सकोप ना बोले । सुनने वाला श्रद्धा से सुने ।
Instructions and commands should not be given with wrath. The speaker should not be in a rage and the listener should listen with faith.

समझ ही मुक्ति का दाता है ।
Understanding itself gives salvation.

ये कथा धर्म सम्मेलन नहीं है । यह जीवन सम्मेलन है ।
Katha is not a religious meeting; it is a discussion about life.

अवस्था का नाम है अध्यात्म । एक स्थिती जो हिन्दु या मुसलमान नहीं हो सकती ।
Spirituality is a state of being; one which is neither Hindu nor Muslim.

बुद्ध पुरुष हमें सामग्री देता है । यात्रा खुदको करनी होती है ।
Self-realised people provide us with the tools; the journey needs to be undertaken by us.

कर्म जड है, कर्म का फ़ल परमात्मा के विधान से आता है । कबूल करो जो होता है ईश्वर विधान से होता है ।
Karma (action) is inert and lifeless. The fruit of our actions comes through God's legislation. Let us accept the fact that whatever happens, it happens through His laws.


मानस मरम, मुंबई कथा - Manas Maram, Mumbai Katha

पदार्थो से सुविधा मिलती है सुख नहीं । रुपयों से सुविधा मिलती है लेकिन सुख कुछ न हो तो भी हो सकता है । अपने आत्मसुख का कारण उपकरण और साधन मत समझों ।
Material things can give comfort and conveniences but not happiness. Money can buy comfort but we can also be happy without having anything. Do not take the reason for your inner happiness and joy to be material objects.

प्रभु रस रुप है । धर्म जगत जब युवानी को रसहीन करने का बुद्धिपूर्वक प्रयास करता है तब धर्म को ग्लानी होती है ।
God is an embodiment of energy and enjoyment. It is a shame when religion tries to intelligently prevent children and youth from truly enjoying life.

राम रस है प्रेम रस है तुलसी को पूछो तो ध्यान भी रस है । कथा भी रस है वक्तव्य भी रस है श्रोतव्य भी रस है ।
Ram is ras - enjoyment/energy; love is also an enjoyment; and for Tulsidasji, even meditation is enjoyment. Katha is ras; the spoken and the listening are both ras.

कारण के बिना कार्य नहीं होता ।
There cannot be action without cause or reason.

भगवान सभी रस का धारक है और सभी रस से पर भी है । प्रभु रसिक है और परमात्मा के अंश के नाते हम भी रसिक हो तो ये आलोचना का विषय नहीं बनना चाहिये ।
God takes on all aesthetic enjoyments but is still beyond and above these enjoyments. God takes interest and being a part of the supreme being, our enjoyments should not be criticised.

कर्म से मुक्त होना मुश्किल है ।
It is difficult to liberate yourself from the consequences of your actions.

सुख की सीमा जरुरी है ।
It's necessary to have a limit even for happiness.

विद्या में स्पर्धा अपराध है ।
In knowledge, having competition is a sin.

सदगुरु हम में रही चेतना को विकसित करता है ।
Sadguru inspires and brings out our hidden and latent consciousness.

जीव का मरम सत्य है । जीवन का मरम प्रेम है । जगत का मरम करुणा है ।
The cause/ purpose of the soul is truth; the purpose of our life is love; and the purpose of this universe is compassion.

हमें हमारे स्वभाव का मरम जानना चाहिए । हरि नाम से सब मरम समझ में आता है ।
We should learn to understand the point and purpose of our own character. Taking God's name helps us to understand all the reasons and purposes.

गुरु की चरण रज आश्रित के मन रुपी दर्पण को साफ़ करती है ।
The dust from the Gruru's feet cleanses the mirror of heart, the mind of the aashrit (sheltered).

तुलसीदास जी कहते है कि निज सुख के बिना मन कभी स्थिर नहीं होगा ।
Tulsidasji has said that without being happy within, we can never be stable and satisfied.

गुरु की रज को जो सिर पर लगाए तो ७ प्रकार के ऎश्वर्य उसके घर चक्कर मारते है ।
संसारिक ऎश्वर्य - लोकेश्ना । सुतेशना । वितेशना । अध्यात्मिक वैराग्य का ऎश्वर्य । भजन का ऎश्वर्य । ज्ञान का ऎश्वर्य । विवेक का ऎश्वर्य.

The dust of Guru's raj over our head leads to seven types of ayshvarya: prosperity to surround us: the worldly prosperities of lokeshana (power), suteshana (offspring), viteshana (wealth); spiritual prosperities of vairagya (detachment), bhajan (singing praises of God), gyaan (knowledge), vivek (wisdom).

हम पाँच तत्वो से बने है इन से सीखे
आकाश - हम अविभक्त रहे संकिर्ण न हो ।
पृथ्वी - सब को धारण करे ।
जल - हम सरिता की तरह बहे ।
अग्नि - अनाव्श्यक का भस्म करे ।
वायु - सब का जीवन बने पर दिखे ना ।

Let us learn from the five elements of which we are made:
Space, Ether - let us remain undivided and not become narrow
Earth - let us help and share the burden of all
Water - let us flow like water
Fire - let us eliminate the unnecessary and unimportant
Air - let us silently become the lifeline for all.

भाव और अर्थ अमूर्त है । उसको भाषा के द्वारा प्रस्तुत किया जाता है ।
Emotions and their meaning are without form; they are made visible through the medium of language.

आखिर में समर्थ की ही शरण लेनी पडती है । समर्थ का आश्रय लेने से हम कभी अकेले नहीं रहते ।
In the end we have to take the shelter under somebody who is competent and capable. We will never remain alone by taking such refuge.

ईश्वर समर्थ है । ईश्वर से भी समर्थ ईश्वर का नाम है ।
God is able; yet even more powerful and capable is His Name.


मानस लोह पुरुष, बारडोली कथा - Manas Loh Purush, Bardoli Katha

हरि का नाम वल्लभ है । नाम को तुलसी ने वल्लभ कहा है ।
The name of God is Vallabh; Tulsi has said His name is Vallabh, the iron element.

हमारे अंदर के लोह तत्व को मजबूत रखने के लिये तीन चीजें : ब्रह्मचर्य(संयम), तप, श्रम ।
To strengthen the iron element within us we require these three: Brahmacharya (control), Tap (penance), Shram (hard work).

किस योग से हम योगेश्वर अनुभव कर सकते है
१. समता - हम समता सीख जाये
२. कार्य कुशलता - अपने कार्य क्षेत्र में कुशल बने ।

The Yog which can help us to experience God is:
1. Let us learn to be equal
2. To be an expert in our work field.


मानस अंबिका, अंबाजी कथा - Manas Ambika, Ambaji Katha

यह जगत बंधन नहीं । यदी जीना आता हो तो यह जगत जीवन्त मोक्ष है ।
This world is not a bondage; Life can be a living salvation if we know how to live.

प्रत्येक मंदिर बाहर से स्वच्छ होना चाहिये और भीतर से पवित्र होना चाहिये । प्रत्येक व्यक्ति भी बाहर से स्वच्छ और भीतर से पवित्र होना चाहिये । फ़िर कोई लम्बी साधना करने की जरुरत नहीं ।
Every temple should be clean from the outside and pure inside. Likewise, if each individual is clean externally and pure within, then there is no need for long and strenuous discipline (sadhana).

माँ त्रिस्तरीय का काम करती है । सृष्टि को उत्पन्न करती है उसका परिपालन और उसका संघार करती है ।
Maa (the universal mother) works on three levels: she creates the universe, nurtures it and also destroys it.

अम्बा के तीन स्तर है स्त्री शारीर अम्बा का ही अंश है । एसा मान कर उसका तीन स्तर पर सम्मान करना चाहिये । कन्या का सम्मान धर्म पत्नी का सम्मान और माँ का सम्मान ।
Ma Amba is present at three levels and all women are an ansha (part) of Amba/ divine mother. Keeping this in mind, we should respect a woman on three levels: as a daughter, as a wife and as a mother.

उमा एक निष्ठा से जन्म है । अम्बा श्रद्धा का रुप है । भवानी यह जग जननी है ।
Uma is born out of devotion towards One; Amba embodies the physical form of faith; Bhavani is the Universal mother.

आनंद की अंतिम सीमा आसूँ है ।
The final step of joy and bliss is tears.

हम सब का जीवन फ़ल होना चाहिये प्रेम । सत्य शायद हम चूक जाये । करुणा छूट जाये । लेकिन प्रेम बना रहे । यह जीवन फ़ल है ।
Love should be the fruit and result of our lives. We may slip in being truthful and may also let go of compassion, but love ought to remain.

जागृत रहना हो जिसको उसे अतीत का ज्यादा ध्यान नहीं करना चाहिये और भविष्य की ज्यादा चिंता नहीं करनी चाहिये.
He who wants remain enlightened should not dwell on the past or worry about the future.

निजता में जीयो । आप दूसरों की तरह होने में अपने marks कम करते हो ।
Be original, be yourself. In trying to become like someone else, you are reducing your own marks.

निरंतर अपने आप से स्पर्धा कर के आगे बढो । दूसरो से नहीं ।
Stride ahead and progress competing with your own self, not with others.

अपने आप को कभी सब से काबिल नहीं समझो ।
Never think yourself to be the most capable of all.

इश्वर ने दिया है एसा सोच कर कष्ट सह लेना तप है ।
To bear pain as it is given to us from God is itself tap (penance).

एकांत में बैठ कर हरि नाम लो । यह सब से सरल भजन है ।
Sitting with oneself and repeating Hari Naam (the Lord's name) is the simplest and easiest form of prayer.

मनोरथ माने इच्छा नहीं चाह नहीं । वो एक प्रार्थना है ।
मनोरथ माने पाच वस्तु । दर्शन मनोरथ शब्द मनोरथ स्पर्श मनोरथ रस मनोरथ गन्ध मनोरथ ।

Manorath does not mean desire or want; it is a a prayer.
Manorath includes these five: darshan manorath (to see), shabda manorath (to hear the words), sparsha manorath (to touch), rasa manorath (to feel the essence) and gandha manorath (to smell).

राम कथा रस भरा वेदांत है ।
Ram Katha is a Vedanta filled with juice and nectar.

पुरुषार्थ के पात्र में ही कृपा निवास करती है ।
It is only within our efforts that kripa (blessings) takes its place and resides.

किसी के प्रती हम प्रमाण पत्र ना दे । ईश्वर ने हमें यह अधिकार नहीं दिया है ।
God has not given us the right to pass judgements on others.

यह कान एक यंत्र है । सुनना श्रवण नहीं है । श्रवण एक विज्ञान है । यह भक्ति है ।
Our ears are a device; to hear is not listening. Listening is a science; it is devotion.

संवाद गुरु की पादुका से भी हुआ करता है ।
Its possible to have a dialogue with Guru's padukas (sandals).

अध्यात्म जगत में गुरु का शरीर उपस्थित होना आवश्यक नहीं है, अपने गुरु के विचारो को स्मृति में रख कर उनसे संवाद करे ।
In spirituality, its not necessary for the Guru to be present physically, one needs to contemplate on His ideas / thoughts and start a dialogue.

प्रलोभन और भय बुद्धी को भटकाते है ।
Temptations and fear lead the buddhi (intellect) astray.

संवाद से धीरे धीरे अपने विकारो से विजय मिलती है ।
A samvaad (dialogue) helps us in getting rid of our shortcomings and defects.

मन से विरोध ना हो । मन से प्रबोध हो ।
Instead of resistance and confrontation, try to have an understanding with your heart/mind.

संवाद से कोई न कोई कथा प्रगट होती है । विवाद से किसी ना किसी प्रकार की व्यथा प्रगट होती है । दुर्वाद से हमेशा क्रोध प्रगट होता है । अपवाद से द्वेष में वृद्धि होती है ।
A samvad (dialogue) gives rise to katha; vivad (argument) gives birth to suffering; durvad (bad language) will always give rise to anger; apvad (false accusation) will give rise to ill-will and enmity.

अध्यात्म जगत में गुरु का शरीर उपस्थित होना आवश्यक नहीं है । अपने गुरु के विचारो को स्मृति में रख कर उनसे संवाद करे ।

यह जिन्दगी तीन पन्ने की किताब है ।
पहेला पन्ना हमें मनुष्य जीवन किसी की करुणा से मिला है ।

दूसरा पन्ना इस बीच वाले पन्ने में प्रेम घूटो ।

Life is a book which has three pages:
The first page is that we have this human life through someone's compassion and blessing.
The third is to know that death is certain and is true.
And in between these, we need to fill the middle page of our life with love.

अध्यात्म जगत में साँस से नहीं जीया जाता विश्वास से जीया जाता है ।
In the spiritual realm, one does not live and survive on breath; one lives with faith.

दास के चार लक्षण
१. दास उदास नहीं रहता क्योंकी उसे कोई चिन्ता नहीं होती ।
२. दास दूसरे से कभी आशा नहीं करेगा । करे तो अपने मालिक से ।
३. सम्यक बुद्धि ।
४. गुरु की अहेतु अन्हद करुणा का अहंकार ना हो ।

The four characteristics of a true devotee (servant of God) are:
1. He is never depressed as he has no worries.
2. He does not expect anything from anyone; if he does, then only from his Guru or Lord.
3. He is level headed and steady of mind.
4. He is not arrogant about the unconditional compassion which the Guru showers.

जो आडंबर और अहंकार से मुक्त वो अध्यात्मिक व्यक्ति है ।
One who is free of hypocrisy and arrogance is truly spiritual.

कान अंग है । कान दो यह अंग दान है । कथा को कान रुपी अंग दान करे फ़िर एक शिव संकल्प होना जरुरी है कि अब यह कान शुभ के सिवा कुछ नहीं सुनेंगे । किसी की इर्शा निंदा नहीं सुनेंगे ।
The ear is a limb and we can give and offer our ears to the divine katha, and when doing this, let us think of Shiva and pledge that our ears will listen to nothing but good things; they will not hear of jealousy and hatred of others.

हम पूरा अंग पूरा शरीर किसी के चरणों में समर्पित ना कर पाए तो स्वभाव और निजता के अनुसार कोई ना कोई अंग हरि को समर्पण करे ।
If we are not able to surrender our entire body and life, then at least we can give a part, a limb, to God according to our individual nature.

अंगद के दो अर्थ । एक अर्थ पूरा शरीर । दूसरा अर्थ शरीर के बिलग बिलग भाग को भी अंगद कहते है ।
The word Angad has two meanings. One is the whole and complete body; and the second meaning is any particular part of the body that can also be referred to as Angad.

हरि नाम साधु संग और स्वयं राम चरित मानस । कुछ बिमारियो से मुक्त हो कर मोक्ष पाने का उपाय है ।
The name of God, the company of Sadhus and the Ram Charit Manas itself; these are ways to liberate oneself of vices and attain moksha (salvation).

मोक्ष कोई भूमि नहीं है एक भूमिका है । इसका तालुक मन से है एक मन से जुडी स्थिति है ।
Moksha is not a place; it is a state of being. It is connected with your mind, with the way that you think and perceive.

पाँच वस्तु की मात्रा कम होने लगे तो समझना मोक्ष आ रहा है ।
वस्तु - बहुत सी वस्तुओ से आसक्ति कम होने लगे ।
वसु - धन संग्रह की वृति कम होने लगे ।
विषय - विषयो के प्रति धीरे धीरे उदासीनता आये ।
व्यक्ति - एकान्त में सुख मिलने लगे ।
विचार - विचार कम होने लगे ।

When the following five start reducing, know that moksha liberation is drawing close:
Vastu (things) - when you start getting detached from things
Vasu (money) - when the tendency to accumulate money reduces
Vishaya (desires) - when you feel disinterested towards various desires
Vyakti (people) - when you start enjoying solitude
Vichar (thoughts) - when you start thinking less

मोक्ष मन की स्थिति है और मन को बोध होगा भागवत कथा से । और जब मन को बोध होगा तब कोई भी घटना विचलित नहीं करेगी ।
Moksha is a state of mind and this state, this understanding is reached through bhagwat katha (listening to the stories of God). When one reaches this state, then nothing can disturb the equanimity of the mind.

तुम ने पाया है तो तुम अपने सदभाग को बाटो । तुम्हारे सुख में सब का भाग है ।
When you have achieved, distribute and share your good fortune with others; everyone has a part to share in your happiness.

भगवत भक्ति के बिना मोक्ष सुख टिकता नहीं ।
The joy of attaining moksh (salvation) will not last without the love for God.

मोक्ष दो अक्षर का शब्द । मो का अर्थ मोह और क्ष का अर्थ क्षय नाश हो जाना । हमारे जीवन में धीरे धीरे मोह का नाश हो जाये कम हो जाये । उसी को मोक्ष कहते है ।
Moksh (Salvation) is a two letter word - moh means attachment and kshay means destroy. When attachments in our lives start reducing and are finally demolished, that is called moksh.

मोक्ष के लिये मरने की जरुरत नहीं, बहुत सावधानी से जीने की जरुरत है ।
You don't have to die to attain moksh / salvation, you need to live life with full and complete awareness.

अभय मिलता है सत्य से और गुरु की कृपा से ।
Fearlessness is achieved through truth or through Guru's grace.

हमारे मार्ग में सबसे बडा खतरा है दूसरों को अपने वश में करने की आशा प्रेम के नाम पर ।
Trying to control the other person in the name of love is the biggest danger on our path.

प्रत्येक आदमी को स्वतंत्रता देनी चाहिए की किस मार्ग पर चलना है ।
Each should be given the right to choose his or her own maarag (path).

रामचरितमानस में स्वयं राम एक मार्ग के लिये बोले है की तुम इस मार्ग पर चलो । वो है भक्ति मार्ग, प्रेम मार्ग अथवा तो शरणागति का मार्ग ।
In the Ramcharit Manas, Ram himself has spoken about a path which we should choose; the path of devotion, the path love, also called surrender.

धर्म को समझना है तो छोटे छोटे पंथो से मुक्त होना पडेगा और परम को समझने के लिये धर्म छोडना पडेगा ।
To understand dharma (religion), we'll have to be free from all the small panths (sects); and to understand the Supreme element, we'll have to leave dharma.

विश्व में जो व्यापक है वो ही जीता है । जो छोटा संकीर्ण होता है वो मरता है ।
In this world, what is vast lives; that which is small and narrow dies.

जो पाँच वस्तु को संभाले वो शिव को पा सकता है ।
जिसके पास सुर है । जिसके पास शब्द है । जिसके पास ताल है । जिसके पास लय है । जिसके पास नर्तन है ।

One who has / takes care of these five can achieve Shiva: who has a sense of sound and melody; who has words; who has rhythm; who has melody and finally, one who has dance.

इच्छा प्रबल बने तो उससे लोभ जन्मता है । सुन्दरता देखो तो काम जन्मता है । कडवे वाक्य से क्रोध जन्मता है । पर अहंकार कभी भी कैसे भी प्रगट हो सकता है ।
When our desires increase greed is born; seeing beauty, desire is born; from bitter words we experience anger; yet the ego can appear at any point and for any reason.

कोई भी विद्या कोई भी कला इंसान को बु़ढा नहीं होने देती । उसे सदेव जवान रखती है ।
Any form of knowledge and art does not let a man grow old; it keeps him ever young.

भरोसा रख के काम करते जाओ । यह भजन है ।
Do your work with faith; this is your bhajan (prayer).

मुख चढा कर कभी माला नहीं करना । यह माला का अपमान है ।
Never do your mala (rosary) with irritation; this is an insult to the mala.

मकान दीवारों से बने पर घर दिल से बनता है ।
A house is made of walls and a home is built with the heart.

राम कथा तीन वस्तु करती है । यह नया संदेश ले कर आती है । यह देशकाल के अनुसार उपदेश ले कर आती है । यह आदेश भी देती है ।
Ram katha does three things: It comes bearing a new message, gives advice according to the need of the time, and also gives direction.

श्रेष्ठो की भाषा अच्छी होनी चाहीये ।
The language used by the superiors should be good and appropriate.

हनुमंत तत्व आलसी नहीं बनाता ये पुरुषार्थ सिखाता है ।
Hanumant essence does not make us complacent; rather, it teaches us true effort.

सबसे अभय होना हो तो किसी का भय रखना ।
To become absolutely fearless, be fearful of one person.

बच्चों को अपने कुल की पावन मीठी परम्परा का स्मरण कराओ ।
Give your children an awareness of the sacred traditions of your family.

भगवान का जन्म आसू से होता है ।
Tears give birth to God.

Listening to katha without any deception is like bathing in the Ganga for nine days.

सत्य लिया जाता है प्रेम दीया जाता है और करुणा में जीया जाता है ।
Truth is there to be taken, love is there to be given and life should be lived with compassion.

तुम जो सुनो उसका असर थोडा थोडा होता है । तुम जो देखो तुम जो प़ढो जो साहित्य प़ढो उसका असर होता है ।
What you hear can have some impact on you; what you see and the kind of book you read can also influence you.

कथा सी़डी है । गोस्वामी जी ने सात सोपान माने सी़डी की बात की । सी़डी दो काम करती है । इससे हम ऊपर च़ढ सकते है । सभी महापुरुष नीचे उतारे ।
Katha represents a staircase. Goswami Tulsidasji speaks of seven steps. A staircase can be used to climb and to go down. All great souls have come down (for the benefit of humanity).

Guru kripa can break the ego.

विश्वास रुपी शिव के तीन नेत्र है, दाई आख सत्य, बाई आख करुणा और बीच की आख प्रेम ।
Shiva, the embodiment of faith, has three eyes; the right eye stands for truth, the left for compassion and the middle represents love.

भक्ति करनी है तो तुम्हारा विश्वास आवश्यक है ।
Faith is most essential in bhakti.

रामचरित मानस हरि मंदिर है. हमारे तीर्थो के मंदिर स्थिर है. शास्त्र एक जंगम हरि मंदिर है जो साथ साथ चलता है ।
Ramcharit Manas is Hari mandir (temple). Our pilgrim places are stationary. Shastra (scripture) is a movable temple which travels along with us.

हनुमान माने सेवा । सेवा करने वाला ही सच्चा पुजारी है ।
Hanuman means service; a true pujari (worshipper) is one who does service.

मंदिर में भगवान की मूर्ति मुस्कुराती हुई होनी चाहिये और दर्शनार्थी रोता हुआ होना चाहिये ।
God's statue in the temple should be smiling and the onlookers weeping.

अपना जीवन ही एक मंदिर है ।
Our life itself is a temple.

मंदिर में दो चीजे बहुत जरुरी है बाहरी स्वच्छता और भीतरी पवित्रता ।
Two essential elements in a temple are outer cleanliness and inner purity.

सदगुरु की आंख में बहती प्रेम धारा (गंगा) है । सदगुरु का लोक मंगल के लिये इधर उधर जाना उसको कर्म की धारा समझना (यमुना) । और वो चुप बैठा हो कुछ बोले ना कभी कभी अपनी मस्ती में मुस्करा दे तो समझना अंदर से ब्रह्म विध्या (सरस्वती) उम़ड रही है ।
The love flowing through Sadguru's eyes is Ganga (prem dhara). His travels for the benefit of the masses is Yamuna (karma dhara). When He is sitting quietly, smiling at times, know that Saraswati (brahma vidya) is flowing forth.

अपना सदगुरु हम जिसकी शरण में प्रसन्न रह सकते है, जिसकी शरण में हमें प्रकाश मिलता है, जिसकी शरण में रहने से हमारी स्वतंत्रता बनी रहे, जो सब के प्रभाव से खुद के प्रभाव से भी मुक्त करके हमें अपने स्वभाव में प्रतिष्ठित करता है एसा सदगुरु तीरथराज है ।
Our Sadguru, who gives us joy, who gives us light (spiritual awareness), who keeps our individuality intact, who keeps us free from all influences including his own and establishes us in our own innate nature / disposition, such a Sadguru is Tirathraj; king among all pilgrimages.

मानस में तो लिखा है कि गंगा नदी थो़डी है । गंगा तो हमारे जीवन का हमारी पूर्वी पूर्ण अध्यात्मिकता का अक्षूर्ण और अखंड प्रवाह है ।
It is written in the Manas that Ganga is not just a river; Ganga represents the unbroken and indivisible flow of our life and that of the entire eastern spirituality.

जीवन में सत्य हो और समर्पण हो तो घटना घट जाती है ।
With satya (truth) and samarpan (surrender) in life, the incident occurs.

विचारों का दान श्रेष्ठ दान है ।
The sharing of thoughts and ideas is the ultimate form of giving.

यह मानस मेरा गुलदस्ता है । इसमे सब फूल रखता हू । बीच में तुलसी का पौधा रखता हू ।
Manas is my flower pot; inside, I keep all kinds of flowers and at the centre is the Tulsi plant.

आदर सब को दो । आत्मा किसी एक को दो ।
Give respect to all; give your atma (soul) to one.

संत समाज के तीरथराज में प्रसन्न मन से स्नान करने जाये सुनो और समझो । फिर अनुराग के साथ उसमे डूबो तो चारो फल शारीर होते हुए प्राप्त कर लोगे ।
With a content mind, bathe in the Tirathraj of Sant Samaj; listen and contemplate. Immerse yourself with devotion and the four aims of life (dharma, artha, karma, moksha) are achieved in this very body.

जो जागृत होता है उसका स्मरण वो करता है ।
God remembers those who are awakened and alert.

यह तीरथराज है । यह तीर्थो का सम्राट है ।
This is Tirathraj (Prayag), king amongst all pilgrimages.

मानस स्वयं शिव है ।
Manas itself is Shiva.

गुरु और वेदांत वाक्यो में विश्वास करना ही श्रद्धा है ।
Trust in the words of one's Guru and the Vedanta is itself faith.

श्रद्धा का स्थान हो आदमी का ह्रदय ।
The heart is where faith should reside.

पार्वती माने श्रद्धा । हमारे ह्रदय में होनी चाहिये । बोधिक श्रद्धा नहीं हार्दिक श्रद्धा हो ।
Parvati represents faith. Our heart should be filled with faith - faith of the heart, not of the mind.

आनंद खोजिये । या तो खुद खोजिये या गुरु पे छो़ड दीजीये ।
Find joy and bliss; either do it yourself or let your Guru do it for you.

रामचरित मानस के हर सौपान में शिव की महिमा उजागर हुई है ।
The importance of Shiva is displayed in each saupan of the Ramcharitmanasa.

विश्राम पाना है तो शंकर का नाम लो ।
Take the name of Shankara if you want rest and repose.

शिव विश्व की औषधि है । वैद्यनाथ वैद्यो का नाथ है । हमारा सब इलाज करने वाला देवता है ।
Shiva is the remedy of the world. Vaidyanath is the master of all doctors. He is the God that can cure each one of us.

शिव स्वयं सदगुरु है । सदगुरु स्वयं शिव है ।
Shiva himself is Sadguru and Sadguru himself is Shiva.

अहंकार का नाश केवल हरि कृपा से ही होता है ।
It is only with God's blessing that the ego can be killed.

प्रसन्नता भी रोग का एक इलाज है । प्रसन्नता भी एक औषधि है ।
Happiness is one remedy for mental illness, and is also a cure.

तुम प्रसन्न रहो तो भी मनोंरोग कम हो जाये ।
Mental diseases can decrease by the simple act of being satisfied and happy.

अहंकार को अपने बारे में सुनने की बहुत इच्छा होती है ।
The ego loves to hear about itself and loves to be spoken about.

सेवा ना हो कोई चिंता नहीं । मानसिक रुप से किसी बुद्ध पुरुष के निकट जीयो ।
Let us not worry if we cannot do seva or service. Let us through our minds be living close to an enlightened being.

कई वैद्य है । तुलसी ने एक समर्थ वैद्य बताया है और वो है सदगुरु ।
There are many doctors; Tulsidasji has revealed the most capable and that is the Sadguru.

सच्चा श्रवण कानों से नहीं आखों से होता है ।
True listening happens through the eyes, not the ears.

तुलसीदासजी ने अहंकार को Cancer कहा है ।
Tuslsidasji has said ego is Cancer.

अहंकार Cancer अति दुखद । अत्यंत पीड़ा दाई है ।
The cancer of ego is most sorrowful and gives much pain.

Gau (cow) signifies our sense organs; we must take care of it.

गो माता बुद्ध का प्रतीक है ।
The Mother Cow symbolises Buddha.

माँ जन्म देती है, गो माता जीवन देती है ।
A mother gives birth; Mother Cow gives life.

अमृत तो कथा है कानो से पीया जाता है ।
Nectar is Katha and is drunk through the ears.

प्रभु की पुर्ण कृपा हो जाये तब साधु संगती मिलती है ।
We are able to get the company of a Saint through God's blessing.

लक्ष्य प्राप्ती के लिये कदम उठाना चाहिये ।
Concrete steps need to be taken to reach one's goal.

जो सेवक बनेगा उसके लिये राम स्वयं सुरधेनू है ।
Ram is Surdhenu (wish fulfilling cow) for one who is willing to serve.

गुरु के बंधन में जीना परम स्वतंत्र है ।
Living under the shelter of one's Guru is supreme freedom.

सत्य नियम नहीं व्रत है । नियम रखे जाते है व्रत अंदर से उभरता है ।
Truth is not a rule, it is vow; rules are kept, a vow comes from within.

सन्मान सब का करो श्रद्धा अपने में रखो ।
Give respect to all, but keep faith in your own (faith).

सबसे ब़डा पाप असत्य है ।
The biggest sin is being untrue.

सत्य स्वाभाविक हो, सत्य के लिए कोई योजना नहिं बनाइ जाए ।
The truth should be natural, for truth there should be no planning.

हमारा सत्य जब दुसरे को परेशान करे ऐसा जब आपको महेसुस हो तब चुप हो जाओ प्लि़ज, ना बोलो ।
When you feel that your truth will trouble or hurt another, then please become quiet; do not speak it.

सत्य समझने को चाहिये धैर्य ।
Patience is required to understand the Truth.

प्रतिक्षा भी एक तपस्या है ।
Waiting is also a penance.

जिसके विचार में सत्य होता है, उसके चहेरे पर आभा बहुत होती है, बोले भले ना ।
He who has truth in his thoughts will have a glow on the face, even if he does not speak.

सत्य विनम्रता से पेश हो आक्रमकता से नहीं ।
Truth should be conveyed humbly not aggressively.

सत्य समर्पण करता है त्याग करता है ।
Truth brings about surrender and sacrifice.

मानस का सत्य पंच मुखी है । एक ही सत्य पाँच रुप में मानस में प्रकट होता है ।
विचार का सत्य । उच्चार का सत्य । आचार का सत्य । स्वीकार का सत्य । सत्य का साक्षात्कार ।

Truth according to the Manas is five-headed. One Truth is presented in five forms:
Truth in thoughts, Truth in words, Truth in actions, Truth in acceptance, witnessing Truth.


मानस प्रेम, नाथद्वारा कथा - Manas Prem, Nathdwara Katha

गुरु के पास जाते समय सही में जिसको गुरु को पाना है, उसको खाली हाथ ही जाना चाहिए. हाथ की मुठ्ठी में कुछ ना हो, ईन लकीरो में अपना प्रारब्ध ना हो ।
When going to the Guru, one who truly wants to attain the Guru should go empty handed. There should be nothing clenched in the hands; even the palms should be free of destiny.

उपनीषदी परंपरा में गुरु के पास जब साधक जाता तब समीध लेकर ’समीध पान’ गुरु के यज्ञ के लिए लकडियाँ लेकर जाता, यह परंपरा प्यारी है ।
In the traditions set out in the Upnishads, when a devotee goes to the Guru they would take some wood with them; they would take wood for the sacrificial fire. This is a beloved tradition.

जीवन साधना के लिए बहुत जरुरी है हनुमंत आश्रय ।
The shelter of Hanumanji is very important in the spiritual practice of life.

गुरु के द्वार से आश्रित को सही रुप में विवेक की प्राप्ति होती है ।
An aspirant can gain the true form of discrimination from their Guru's abode.

गुरु के घर से आदमी को सहि रुप में वैराग्य मिलता है ।
An individual can attain the true form of renunciation from their Guru's home.

प्रेम परमात्मा है ।
Love is God.

एक बार व्यक्ति के ह्रदय में प्रेम प्रगट हो जाए तो कुछ बाकि नहीं रहता ।
Once love appears in the heart of an individual, then there is nothing left (to be attained).

प्रेम प्रसाद से प्रगट होता है और प्रमाद से विलीन हो जाता है ।
Love appears through prasad (kripa) and it disappears due to laziness.

व्यक्ति का जीवन त्याग और प्रेम के बिना पूर्ण नहीं होता ।
One's life is not complete without renunciation and love.

३०० से ज्यादा बार मानस में प्रेम शब्द आया है मतलब १०० प्रतिशत नहीं ३०० प्रतिशत ।
The word 'Love' has appeared more than 300 times in the Ram Charit Manas, giving it not 100% but 300% approval.

प्रेम में काम और लोभ बाधक नहीं होते । प्रेम के प्रगटीकरण में क्रोध बाधा डालता है ।
Desire and greed are not barriers in the manifestation of Love; anger puts an obstruction in its appearance.

प्रामाणिक प्रेम प्रसन्नता की जनेता है ।
True love gives birth to contentment.

प्रेम किसी भी हाल में आदमी को प्रसन्न रख सकता है ।
Love has the ability to keep a person happy in any circumstance.

प्रेम हम सब में है जैसे आत्मा हम सब में है ।
Love is within each of us, just as we all have a soul.

गोस्वामीजी मानस में लिखते है राम को एक ही चीज पसंद है और वो है प्रेम ।
Goswāmiji writes in the Mānas that Rām likes only one thing and that is love.

Without firm faith (vishwas), devotion (bhakti) is not complete.

मैं यहाँ शबरी के मीठे बेर बोने आया हू की इसमे से मीठे फ़ल ऊगे ।
I have come here to sow the seeds of Shabri's sweet berries (a devotee from the Ramayana) so that sweet fruit will grow from this.

ब्रह्म कैसा है रहने दो । हमें तो उसका नाम लेना है और गुणगान करना है ।
Don't worry or wonder about what Brahma is like; let us just take His name and sing His glories.

विश्व और विश्वनाथ करुणा के बगैर प्रगट नहीं होता ।
The universe and the Creator manifest only through compassion.

कथा सुनो क्योकि कथा हरि स्मरण है ।
Listen to katha, as this is Hari smaran - remembering God.

मृत्यु के डर से बचने का तरीका है हरि स्मरण ।
Remembering God is a way to save oneself from the fear of death.

करुणा माँ का प्रतीक है । बुद्ध विश्व की माँ है । संत माँ है सदगुरु माँ है ।
Compassion is the symbol of a mother; Buddha is the mother of the world; a Saint and a Sadguru is a mother.

आज के जगत को जरुरत है करुणा की ।
The world today needs Compassion.

Don't think about what you don't have; leave what you may have in the future; just enjoy what you do have at this present moment.

The aim of my Vyaas Peeth is that you remain happy and are ever joyful.

My appeal to you is not to do Hanuman Chalisa; but do try to understand the essence of the Hanumant tattva.

गुरु कौन - हमें श्रद्धा दे; हमें विचार दे; प्रेम से प्रेम प्रगट करे; आश्रित के गुनाहों को कबूल कर दंड खुद भोगे; हमें अध्यात्मिक बनाये ।
Guru is the one who gives us faith; gives us thoughts / belief; who accepts our faults taking the penalty on himself; lovingly brings out the latent love in us, and makes us spiritual.

’महा’ माने जो तीन प्रकार के मकार को नष्ट कर दे : मद को मिटा दे; मदन को मिटा दे; मत्सर को मिटा दे ।
'Maha' means, one who destroys three kinds of M's: mada (ego), madan (desires), matsar (jealousy).

सुख पूर्ण दुःख झेलना तप है ।
Happily enduring all the hardships in life is Tap (Tapasaya).

पद मुक्त पदाधिकारी का नाम है हनुमानजी ।
Hanumanji is the one who holds no title / position despite being the most worthy.

Sacrifices of the twenty-first century should be with compassion.

हर पल उत्सव है, उत्सव ही उत्सव है ।
Each moment is a celebration, filled with celebration.

आंसू इन्द्रियातीत है जैसे इश्वर इन्द्रियातीत है. आंसूओ का रिश्ता केवल ह्रदय से होता है ।
Tears are beyond the sense just as God is beyond the realm of senses. Tears have connection only with the heart.

भक्त सदा ज्ञानी ही होता है, भक्त कभी मूढ़ नहीं होता ।
A devotee is always knowledgeable, he is never dull.

Leave the discussion about Nirakar (God without form) or Sakar (God with form). This Shastra (scripture) of Tulsi is the syllable of God.

जो गुरु के चरण में विश्वास रखेगा, उसके विश्व के समस्त भय नष्ट हो जाते है ।
One who keeps faith at the feet of his Guru, all his fears are destroyed.

मानस के यह सात सौपान एक सीडी है. यह सीडी अपने पास रखना, आप यदि नहीं च़ढ पाओ तो ऊपर वाला निचे आने लगता है ।
The seven parts of Manas are a ladder. Keep this ladder with you, for even if you are unable to climb it, the One from above will come down.

Extreme happiness can also give rise to adversity and misery.

जो धर्म डराए उसे मै धर्म नहीं मानता. अभय दे वो धर्म ।
Dharma or religion which instils fear, that I do not consider that to be dharma; Religion is one which gives fearlessness.

मेरा काम मंदिर बनाना नहीं, मेरा काम हर घर को मंदिर बनाना है ।
My work is not building temples instead my work is to make each home a temple.

कुछ बाते दिखने में छोटी होती है. एक मंत्र, एक नाम छोटा सा होता है और कितना ब़डा काम कर देता है ।
There are some things that appear to be small. A Mantra, a Naam is so small and yet accomplishes such big things.

जीवन में आया हुआ दुःख हम जब प्रभु का प्रसाद समझ लेते है तब ताप मिट कर तप हो जाता है ।
Our sufferings become austerities, when we accept sorrows of life as God's prasaad, offering.

मनुष्य जीवन सब से बडा चमत्कार है ।
Human life is the biggest miracle of all.

तुलसी कहते है संत सिद्ध नहीं शुद्ध होना चाहिए; शुद्ध को गिरने की कोई संभावना नहीं होती ।
Tusli says that a saint should be shuddha (pure) and not siddha (with accomplishments). There is no possibility of the pure falling.

भय मुक्त करता है राम नाम, रोग मुक्त करता है राम नाम, विकार मुक्त करता है राम नाम ।
Rama naam frees us from fear, Ram naam frees us from disease, and lastly His name frees us from our flaws.

सुनना बहुत ब़डी भक्ति है ।
Listening is a great Bhakti itself.

प्रत्येक लाभ को शुभ नहीं समझना, लेकिन शुभ को सदेव लाभ ही समझना, चाहे छोटा हो या विरत ।
Don't take every gain to be auspicious, but all that is good and auspicious should be taken as a gain, be it small or large.

समाधि अंतिम स्थिति नहीं है. समाधि का भी कोई फल है वो है राम नाम, हरी नाम ।
Samadhi is not the final stage. Samadhi also has its own fruit and that is Ram Naam, Hari Naam.

निर्भय और निर्लोभ भाव से हनुमान चालीसा करो ।
Recite Hanuman Chalisa without any fear or greed.

राम नाम और राम काम, तुलसी का संदेश है ।
Tulsi's message is the name of Rama and the work of Rama, taking the name of God and fulfilling duty and service.

आदमी का भीतरी खालीपन केवल दो चीजो से भरा जा सकता है, प्रेम से और त्याग से ।
Love and Renunciation are the only two things that can fill the internal emptiness of man.

संघर्ष में कोई निर्णय ना ले, क्योंकी संघर्ष में हमारे चित की दशा ठीक नहीं होती ।
When in conflict don't take a decision, for during conflict we are not in the right state of mind.

जब निकट के लोग निंदा करने लगे तो समझना सत्य परम निकट है ।
When those closest to us start to condemn or denounce us, then understand that Truth is drawing close.

Bliss/ happiness is born out being natural and true to one's own nature.

आज्ञा पालन के समान गुरु की कोई सेवा नहीं ।
Following Guru's instructions/ orders is the highest form of service to Him.

बिना विचार के बोले जाना वाणी का दोष है ।
Speaking without thinking is a defect of speech.

गुरु गृह की तीन मुख्य चीजे - गुरु वचन, गुरु चरण, गुरु नयन ।
The three most important things of Guru Griha: Guru's speech, Guru's feet and Guru's eyes.

सत्य का निवास स्थान है जीभ; प्रेम का निवास स्थान है इंसान का ह्रदय; करुणा का निवास स्थान है इंसान की आंखे ।
The main place for truth is the tongue, love resides in the heart, and compassion lives in one's eyes.

घर में मंदिर रखो अच्छा; लेकिन घर को ही मंदिर बनाओ ।
It is good to keep a temple in your home; but make your house a temple.

हमारा ह्रदय ही गुरु गृह है ।
Our heart is the abode of our Guru.

विश्व मांगता है पंचम युग, ये है प्रेम युग ।
The world is asking for a fifth Yuga, a fifth Age, and that is the Age of Love.

गुरु गृह से नौ निद्धि की प्राप्ति होती है.
विषाद से मुक्ति; विद्या प्राप्ति; विवेक में वृद्धि; विश्वास का द्रढिकरण; भौतिक विकास; विश्राम मिलना; वैराग्य ब़ढना; विस्मय ब़ढना; विचार शून्यता ।

Nine treasures are attained from the abode of Guru:
Freedom from sorrow/ pain; gain of knowledge; increment in discernment/ understanding; growth of faith; materialistic gains; peace and rest; dispassion/ detachment; increase in curiosity; thoughts become nought.

कभी एक संत में सारा समाज समाया हुआ होता है, कभी सारे समाज में कोई एक ही संत होता है ।
At times, the entire society is assimilated in one Saint and sometimes there is only one Saint in the whole society.

इश्वर तो सब के पास है, पर ज़हा ego हो तो वो कहेता है, I Go.
God is always with us, but where there is 'ego' He says, 'I Go'.

संत समाज के अवगाहन करने से अपनी वृत्तियों में परिवर्तन आता है ।
Submergence in Sant Samaj brings about a change in our habits.

संत समाज के सेवन से क्लेश समाप्त होता है ।
The company of Saints brings one's delusions and afflictions to an end.

संत समाज चलता फ़िरता प्रयाग है. संत समाज के पाच लक्षण :
१) शांति - जहा शांति होती है.
२) विवेक - विवेक का वर्धन होता है.
३) पवित्रता - उनके चारो ओर पवित्रता होती है.
४) प्रेम भावना - परसपर प्रेम, कोई भेद नहीं होता.
५) सेवा वृत्ति का सर्जन - समाज में सेवा करने की वृत्ति हो.

Sant Samaj ie Society of Saints is a prayag (meeting point). The 5 indicators of Sant Samaj are:
1) Peace - the surroundings radiate peace.
2) Knowledge/ wisdom - they increase the power of discretion.
3) Purity - they are surrounded by purity.
4) Love for all - they have love for all with out any discrimination.
5) Service- they have the desire to do service.

भरोसा ही भजन है ।
Faith itself is bhajan.

मूल में नाम तत्व है. उसके ऊपर भजन भवन (बनाने) के पांच अंग :
१) स्मरण - निरंतर स्मृति
२) सेवा - स्मरण करते करते सेवा
३) समता - सबकी समान सेवा
४) समर्पण - त्याग आएगा
५) स्वीकार - सब का स्वीकार

Naam tattva (the Name of God) is the root. A Bhajan Bhavan above this, requires five things:
1) Smaran/ Remembrance - constant remembrance of God.
2) Seva/ Service - doing service while remembering God.
3) Samta/ Equality - there should be no partiality in service.
4) Samarpan/ Surrender - sacrifice will come.
5) Svikar/ Acceptance - acceptance of all.

મારી વ્યાસપીઠ સન્યાસ નથી આપતી; સમજણ આપે છે ।
My vyashpith does not give or advocate renunciation; rather, it offers understanding.

सारी कथा का मूल तत्व नाम है; सारे ब्रह्मांड के मूल में नाम है ।
Naam, the name of God, is the fundamental element of Katha. The essence of creation is in Naam.

बुद्धि को शुद्ध रखने के तीन उपाय, जो गीता में बताये है.
१) यज्ञ - हरी नाम का यज्ञ अपनी बुद्धि को शुद्ध रखता है.
२) दान - अपने से जो हो. मीठी वाणी बोलना भी दान है.
३) तप - कलयुग का तप है निंदा को सहन कर लेना और जिसने निंदा की उसके प्रति दुर्भाव न हो ।

Three ways of keeping the mind/ intellect pure, as shown in the Geeta:
1) Yagya/ Sacrifice: taking the name of God is a yagya which keeps the buddhi pure.
2) Daan/ Giving: whatever we can do as per our ability; speaking nicely and sweetly to others is also a form of giving.
3) Tap/ Penance: tolerating condemnation and not to have any ill-feeling for those who judge us, is a type of penance in this age of Kaliyug.

ગાય ને પૂજો એટલું પૂરતુ નથી; ગાય ને પ્રેમ કરો ।
It is not enough to merely worship the cow; give love to the cow.

राम चरित मानस का कोई सूत्र अच्छा लगे तो, उस सूत्र को :
- अपना मित्र मानना
- उसको पुत्र की तरह पालना
- अपना नैत्र बनाना

If you like any sutra from Ram Charit Manas then:
- accept that sutra as your friend
- nourish it like your son
- let it become your eyes

इस वीरपुरधाम में एक त्रिवेणी है; भजन, भोजन, और भाजन/पात्रता की ।
Virpurdham is a Triveni of bhajan, bhojan and bhaajan (ability/capability).


मानस विवेक, कोलकाता कथा - Manas Vivek, Kolkata Katha

पत्नि का अर्थ है जो पति को पतन से बचाए:
नारी का अर्थ है न अरि ।

The meaning of patni/ wife is one who saves her husband from patan/ falling.
The meaning of nari is na ari, one who is not an enemy.

सम्वेदना का मुख्य स्थान ह्रदय है. भगवान शंकर ने पूरा शास्त्र ह्रदय में रखा है. भले ज्ञान की पीठ में बैठा है लेकिन वो करुणा का अवतार है. उनकी कथा ह्रदय से निकलती है ।
The main place for compassion is in the heart. Shankar Bhagwan has kept the entire shastra within his heart. He might be positioned in the seat of knowledge, but he is the incarnation of compassion. His katha emerges from the heart.

विवेक मतलब समझदारी, जागृति ।
Vivek means understanding, awareness.

विवेकानंदजी: राजनीती मे हिंदुस्तान यदि धर्म छोड देगा तो नष्ट हो जायेगा.
राजनीती मे धर्म होना चाहिये, लेकिन धर्म मे राजनीती नहि होनी चाहिये; और धर्म का अर्थ सत्य, प्रेम और करुणा ।

Vivekanandji said that if Hindustan discards dharma/ righteousness in politics, it will be destroyed.
Bapu added that in politics there should be dharma, but in dharma there should not be politics, and by Dharma he means Satya Prem and Karuna, Truth Love and Compassion.

हमारे देश मे तीन बस्तु आदमी को आदर के साथ मिलनी चाहिये :
- आगम/ शिक्षण: आखिर व्यक्ति अन्तिम व्यक्ति से लेकर सबको शिक्षा मिलनी चाहिये.
- उसको अन्न मिलना चाहिये; कोई आदमी भुखा नहि रहेना चाहिये, बच्चे तो खास.
- आदमी को आदर के साथ आरोग्य की सेवस्थ प्राप्त होनी चाहिये ।

There are three things that each person should receive with respect :
- Education: from the first to the last person, everyone should be educated.
- Food: every individual should have food; noone should remain hungry, especially children.
- Healthcare: everyone should receive healthcare with dignity and respect.

गुरु शिष्य की परंपरा मे यह होता है: आश्रित/शिष्य चरण छुए, और वोह हमारा शिर छुए ।
In the Guru shishya tradition, the disciple pays respect and touches the feet of the guru, and the guru blesses and touches the head of the disciple.

विवेक मानी अग्नि. तुलसीदास जी ने कहा है की विवेक रुपी अग्नि को प्रगट करने के लिए राम कथा एक मंथन है ।
Vivek is in fact a fire. Tulsidasji has said that Ram Katha is a churning for the manifestation of this fire of vivek.

विवेक चार प्रकार से मिलता है:
१) एक मांगने से मिलता है. फ़िर वो कृपा करे तो.
२) मंथन से मिलता है. खुद के चिंतन से.
३) सत्संग करने से.
४) हमारा गुरु बिन बोले हमें विवेक प्रदान करता है ।

Vivek can be attained in four ways:
1) By asking, and then if He (God) showers His grace.
2) Through contemplation and self-introspection.
3) By doing satsang.
4) Our Guru grants us this vivek without us asking.

भारत के युवान की सुबह रुद्राष्टक से हो; स्नान करते समय, आत्म लिन्ग का अभिषेक करे. और संध्या हनुमान चालिसा से हो ।
Let your morning begin with reciting the Rudrashtak, especially the youth of India today, by doing abhishek on the lingam that is the soul; and let the evening end with Hanuman Chalisa.

सत्संग से विवेक का जन्म होगा. यह सत्संग सुलभ होता है हरी कृपा से.
हरी कृपा निराकार, अमृत है. कृपा व्यापक है, कृपा सर्वकालिक है ।

The power of discretion/ discernment is born through satsang. This satsang is only made possible with the grace of God.
Kripa, the grace of God, is without any form; it is nectar. It is present everywhere (not dependent on any particular place) and is present at all times (not limited to time frame).

एवरेस्ट के लिये स्पर्धा जरुरि है; कैलास के लिये केवल श्रद्धा ।
To reach Everest, competitiveness is necessary; but for Kailas, you need only faith.

हरेक ह्रदय में सम्वेदना का परमात्मा प्रकट हो.
May the lord of kindness and compassion appear in all our hearts.


मानस सारनाथ, सारनाथ कथा - Manas Sarnath, Sarnath Katha

परम प्रेम परम धर्म है ।
Supreme love is the supreme religion.

भगवान बुद्ध शुद्ध है, विशुद्ध है. वो हमे शुद्ध होने का सरल उपाय इन चार सूत्रो में प्रदान करते है.
१) तुम यथार्थ (सही) रुप में अपने शरीर का अवलोकन करो (देखो).
२) यथार्थ अवलोकन करो चित्त का. मेरा चित्त जागृत रुप में कहा-कहा जाता है.
३) चित्त की समस्त वृत्तियों को देखो.
४) मुझ को (अपने को) दुःख कहा से आया, उस स्थिति का अवलोकन करो.

Bhagwan Buddha is most pure. In these four sutras, He shows us the easiest way to become purified:
1) Genuinely behold and look at your physical body.
2) Keep an eye on the ways of your mind, and its working in the conscious state.
3) Observe the various tendencies of the consciousness
4) Keenly watch the root cause i.e the origin of your pain and suffering.

कभी किसी के प्रभाव में नहीं जीना, अपने प्रभाव मे जीना.
सत्य जहाँ से मिले ले लो, पर किसी से प्रभावित नहीं होना.

Don't live your life under anyone's influence. Live in your own innate nature.
Truth should be accepted and welcomed from everywhere, but don't let your life be regulated by anyone.

राम के प्रागट्य के लिये पाच चीजे होनी चाहिए:
१) योग - तीनो मे से एक: कर्मयोग, जानयोग, भक्तियोग
२) लगन - मन में लगन
३) गृह - सदगुरु का अनुग्रह
४) वार - एतबार, भरोसा गुरु के वचन पर
५) तिथि - किसी भी तिथि में वो अतिथि बन सकता है.

The birth and arrival of Rama requires the following five elements:
1) Yog - the presence of good deeds, knowledge, or devotion
2) Lagan - connected mind
3) Grah - the grace of your Sadguru
4) Baar - faith and confidence in the command of your Sadguru
5) Teethi - On any given date or time, Rama can be our guest.

चिंता करने वाला आदमी धार्मिक नहीं होता. धार्मिक आदमी कभी चिंता नहीं करता. अगर चिंता करे तो समझना धार्मिक कपड़ो मे अधार्मिक छिपा है.
One who worries cannot be righteous; a true religious man never worries about anything. If he does, then recognise him to be an atheist wearing the garb a religious one.

साधना वाणी से नहीं व्यक्ति के वर्तन से सुनी जाती है ।
Sadhana cannot be spoken of, but is comminicated by one's behaviour/ conduct.

अगर कोई पूछे, सत्य की व्याख्या करो, तो शांत रहो. यह है सत्य की व्याख्या.
अगर कोई पूछे, प्रेम की व्याख्या करो, तो थोडा मुस्करा दो. यह है प्रेम की व्याख्या.
अगर कोई कहे, करुना की व्याख्या करो, आंख मे थोड़ी सी भिनाश (नमी). यह है करुना की व्याख्या ।

If someone asks, what is the definition of Truth, then stay quiet; this is the illustration of Truth.
If someone asks you to define Love, then laugh a little; this itself is Love.
If someone asks you to explain Compassion, then let your eyes moisten; this is the meaning of Compassion.

हरि नाम का आश्रय प्रमाद नहीं है, समस्या के समाधान का महा प्रयत्न है ।
Refuge in God's name is not laziness, but is the ultimate effort to solve a problem.

बुद्ध नाम नहीं है. बुद्ध तो प्रयास से या प्रसाद से पाई गई अवस्था है ।
Buddha is not a name. It is a state of being, which one achieves through one's own efforts or through someone's kind grace.

जहां विरोध है वहां बोध नही. जहां बोध है वहां विरोध नही ।
Where there is contradiction there is no enlightenment. Where there is enlightenment there is no contradiction.

सब को प्रेम करो...सत्य का उपासक मुस्कराता होना चाहिए ।
Love everyone; a follower of truth, walking on the path of truth, should ever be smiling.

प्राण खोलने की प्रक्रिया का नाम है राम कथा. यह दुसरे के लिये नहि केवल और केवल अपने लिये ।
The process of opening one's life is called Ram Katha. This is not for anyone else but yourself.

हमारे उपनिषद देहोत्सर्ग को ज्यादा महत्व नहीं देते. महत्व प्राण का है. प्रश्न प्राण का है देह का नहीं.
अगर मुझ से कोई पूछे तो में यह ही कहू, पाच चीजे करना:
१) पवित्र जल से स्नान
२) चन्दन करो
३) पवित्र वस्त्र धारण करो
४) आरती के भाव से दीपक जलाओ
५) अग्नि में, भूमि में, जल में, अपने संस्कार के मुताबिक विसर्जन करो

Our Upanishads do not give so much importance to Dehotsarg. Prana is of utmost significance; the question is of prana, not of the physical body.
If someone was to ask me, I would say, do five things:
1) Bathe the body with pure water
2) Do chandan / sandalwood
3) Dress with sacred clothes
4) Light a candle/ lamp with the bhaav of doing aarti
5) Perform rites in Agni, earth or water according to your tradition.

सत्य जब जुवान होता है तो उसका नाम प्रेम है. प्रेम जब बुढा होता है, पक्ता है, तो करुणा बन जाता है. करुणा जब निर्दोष बनती है, बच्चे कि तरह, तो फ़िर सत्य का रुप हो जाता है. यह एक चक्र है ।
When Truth is in its youth, it is called Love. When Love becomes ripe and reaches old age, it takes the form of Compassion. When Compassion becomes innocent like a small child, it again becomes Truth. This is a cycle.

तुम्हारे आगे कौन है ये नहि देखो. तुम्हारे पिछे कौन है ये नहि देखो. तुम्हारे दाएं कौन है, बाएं कौन है, उपर कौन है, नीचे कौन है ये नहि देखो. तुम्हारे अंदर क्या है ये देखो. यह देखने के लिये भगवद कथा है; कथा का अर्थ है अंतर-दर्शन ।
Don’t look at who is in front of you or behind you, who is on your left or right, who is above or below. Instead, understand what is inside you. Bhagvad Katha is for this; its purpose is introspection and understanding one's own self.

शरिर पाँच तत्वो से बना है: पृथ्वि, जल, आग्नि, आकाश, पवन. फिर बाद मे यह इनमे वापस चला जाता है किसि न किसि रूप मे: अग्नि संस्कार, जल समाधि, पृथ्वि मे या किसि योगी कि तरह जो अपना शरिर पवन मे पिघाल देता है ।
The body is made up of five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Ether, Air. Later it returns to those elements in one form or another: through Agni sanskar, Jal samadhi, in the Earth through burial or like a yogi who becomes one with the Air.


मानस मृत्यु, सिड्नी कथा - Manas Mrutyu, Sydney Katha

सदगुरु महा मृत्यु है, भितर के कचरे का प्रलय कर देता है. सदगुरु निर्वाण रुप है. सदगुरु मिल जाये तो इसके आगे कोइ उप्लब्धि नहि है ।
Sadguru is ultimate death. He destroys the impurities present inside us. He is salvation. Once He is attained there can be no further achievement beyond Him.

मृत्यु हि मोक्ष है ।
Death is Salvation.

तीन वस्तु मिट जाये तो हम जीवन मुक्त है.
शोक: भुतकाल का शोक मिट जाये.
मोह: वर्तमान का मोह मिट जाये.
चिंता: भविष्य की चिंता मिट जाये ।

If we can destroy three things then we can become liberated in this life.
Sok: grief of the past.
Moh: attachment for the present.
Chinta: worrying for the future.

शंकर को प्रलय का देवता माना है; महादेव प्रलयन करता है. शिव एक भंडार चलाता है; यहां जाये उसको भक्ति कि रोटी मिलती. सदगुरु भितर के कचरे का प्रलय कर लेता है ।
Shankar is believed to be the God of destruction; Mahadev has the ability to destroy. Shiva holds a charity kitchen, and whosoever goes there receives the roti of bhakti. Sadguru destroys the impurities filled within us.

भाग जाना बहोत आसान है; जाग जाना कठीन है. आप भागो मत; जागो ।
It is very easy to run away from everything, yet difficult to wake up; don’t run from your life, from your duties, from those around you; awake to them!

साधु कौन? जिसमे ये चार हो वह साधु:
- सब का स्विकार करे
- किसी से तकरार ना करे
- जिवन मे किसी का तिरस्कार ना करे
- सब से प्यार

Who is a Sadhu? One who has these four qualities is a Sadhu:
- One who accepts everything and everybody
- One who has no discord with anybody
- One who does not have contempt or disrespect for anyone
- One who has love and affection for everybody

द्वेश मुक्त जीवन और कामना मुक्त जीवन सन्यास है ।
A life free from hatred and all kinds of desires, longings and expectations is itself Sanyas.

आदमी मृत्यु से नहि मरता है; भय से मरता है ।
Man does not die from death; rather, from fear.

मोक्ष के लिये मरना जरुरि नहि है पर अन्दर कोइ चिज़ मर जाये, जैसे द्वेश, इर्शा, राग, आकान्क्षा, तुल्ना, वोहि मोक्ष है ।
Death is not necessary to attain moksha, rather, killing traits such as hatred, jealousy, desire and comparison, that itself is moksha.


मानस सातसो, कैलास कथा - Manas 700, Kailas Katha

जीवन इसी लिये है के हम ज्यादा से ज्यादा शुद्ध जीवन जी सके ।
Life has been given for the purpose and so that we can lead the most pure form of life.

पुण्य करने से आदमी की विवेक बुद्धि बढती है; साहब पाप करने से तो विवेक बुद्धि नष्ट हो जाती है और विवेक बुद्धि नष्ट होने से आदमी वारम्वार पाप करने लगता है. ये साईकिल चलती रहेती है ।
By doing good deeds, a person's power of discrimination increases, but by doing bad deeds, the power of discrimination is destroyed and a person keeps sinning. This cycle continues.

जिस तरह ये पुरा कैलास कथा का आयोजन हुआ है, इस से हम और आप तो प्रसन्न है हि लेकिन मुजे लग रहा है कि यहां कि सभि चेतनाये भि इस से प्रसन्न है ।
The way this Kailas Katha has been organised, you and I are of course pleased, but I also feel that all the souls here are fully content.

गुरुओ से क्या मांगोगे? यदि आपको मांगना हो तो ये मांगो, हमे आपका दर्शन हो. बाप पाप नष्ट हो जायेंगे.
What can you ask from your Guru? If you do ask, then ask for His darshan. Your sins will be destroyed.

हनुमान चालिसा का पाठ करते समय प्रित से पाठ करो, कोइ भि अपेक्षा किये बिना करो; अपेक्षाये भक्ति मार्ग का कलंक है. प्रेम से ये करते करते हमारी कामनाये धीरे धीरे नष्ट होने लगती है, तेरी जो इच्छा हे वो कर. फ़िर दिल कहेता हे कि जो तुज भाये.
When doing Hanuman Chalisa paath, recite them with love, do them without expecting anything; expectations are a negative taint on bhakti. With love these desires will slowly be abolished and we surrender to whatever Your wish is.

साहब एक बात याद रखना: भजन का कोइ फ़ल नहि होता, फ़ल देने वाला भजन तुम्हे फ़सायेगा; इश्वर भी कभि हमे ज्यादा दे तो साधु मे मना करने कि क्षमता होनी चाहिये ।
Remember one thing: there is no fruit when you do bhajan; bhajan that gives fruits will not let you progress. Even if God give us too much then a Sadhu should have the ability to refuse it.

सुख कि कभि ऊपेक्षा मत करो; आ जाये तो प्रभु का प्रसाद समज कर पहेले दुसरो को बांटो और बाद मे उसे भोगो ।
Don't ever have expectations for happiness; if you receive it, then consider it as God's prasad, share it with others and then reap it yourself.

हनुमान चालिसा का तात्विक रूप: शंकर के ५ मुख है, इसि लिये नेत्र १५ है; ये अष्ट मुर्ति देव माना जाता है तो ये ८ हुआ, और ज्योतिर्लींग तो १२ है. इन सबको मिलाओ तो ये ४० होता है, उसिका नाम ही हनुमान चालिसा है ।
The true form of Hanuman Chalisa: Shankar has five faces, therefore 15 eyes; He is considered ashta murti dev or God of 8 murtis, and there are 12 jyotirlings. Adding all these, the total comes to 40, and this is called Hanuman Chalisa.

नियम कभी व्यापक नहि होता. देश, काल और व्यक्ति पर निर्भर होता है. केन्सर खतम हो जाये तो फिर केमोथेरापी करते रहेने कि जरुरत नहि होति ।
A rule is never permanent. It depends on time, the individual and place. Once the cancer is cured there is no need to continue with chemotherapy.

जितनी शक्ति हम अपने शरीर कि देखभाल मे लगाते है, उतनी हि शक्ति ईश्वर प्राप्ति के लिये चाहिये, उस से ज्यादा नहि ।
The amount of energy we utilise in looking after our physical body, the same amount is enough to realise God, no more.

सदगुरु और ईश्वर जानने वालि चिज नहि, मानने वालि चिज है ।
You don’t need to know and understand Sadguru and God, rather listen to and believe Them.

भक्ति मार्ग मे दो चिज ही जरुरि है: अश्रु और आश्रय ।
Only two things are absolutely necessary on the path of Bhakti: Tears and Refuge.

किसी महापुरुष, सदगुरु के आश्रय मे रहेना, आश्रित की सुरक्षा भि है और शोभा भि है ।
Under the shelter of a Mahapurush or Sadguru, the āashrit (devotee) is provided both security as shobha.

आलोचना संदेश मुलक हो तो आदर्णिय है. आलोचना द्वेश मुलक हो तो व्यक्ति दया का पात्र है ।
Constructive criticism is always welcome but a person criticising out of jealousy is worthy of compassion.

अप्राप्त वस्तु कि इच्छा और प्राप्त वस्तु कि ममता हि बंधन है ।
The desire for the unattained and attachment with already attained possessions leads to bondage.


मानस रावण १०, न्यु योर्क कथा - Manas Raavan 10, New York Katha

हरिनाम बुद्धि को विशुद्ध करता है ।
Taking God's name greatly purifies the mind.

राम और रावण मै बहुत साम्य भि है और विरुधाभास भि है: राम परमार्थि है और रावण पुरुशार्थि है; राम शेतु बंधक है और रावण शेतुभंजक है; लंका के रण मेदान मे राम रथ के बिना है और रावण रथि है; राम सबको स्विकारता है लेकिन रावण सबको निकालता है; और साम्य ये दोनो आराधना तो शिव की हि करते है ।
There many similarities and differences between Rama and Ravana: Rama is paramarthi (one who performs charitable deeds for others) and Ravana is purusharthi (one who does actions for his own self); Rama builds bridges and Ravana destroys bridges; In Lanka's battlefield Rama is without a chariot and Ravana has a chariot; Rama accepts everyone while Ravana dismisses everyone. Despite these differences both Rama and Ravana worship Lord Shiva.

प्राप्ति में मत फ़सो; रस में डुबो ।
Don't get caught up in and worry about attainment; just enjoy to the fullest.

नाम स्मरण से बुद्धि शुद्ध होती है ।
The intellect / mind is purified by naam smaran, by recalling and repeating God's name.

साधना जीवन से बिलग ना हो. जीवन हि साधना है. हर बात मैं साधना है; हर बात मैं सत्संग है ।
Worship is not separate from life. Life itself is worship. In everything there is worship; in everything there is satsang, prayer.

Yuvān or youth do a lot of purushārtha (hard work to try and fulfil actions rightly expected from them) but the parinām (resultant benefits) should be distributed to all.


मानस रावण ९, थाईलेंड कथा - Manas Raavan 9, Thailand Katha

दहशत होगी तो कुछ नहीं होगा,
महनत होगी तो कुछ कुछ होगा,
रहमत होगी तो सब कुछ होगा ।

If there is fear/tension, nothing will happen;
If there is effort/ hard work, something will happen;
If there is grace/ blessings, everything will happen.

आछी आछी पुस्तक पढो जिस मे से कुछ मुल्य प्राप्त होते है, अच्छी मग्गज़ीने पढो, कुछ अच्छा मिले जिसमे से ।
Read good books and magazines from which you’re able to get something valuable.

चिंता तन से प्रगट होति है, निवास करती है मन मे और जिवन को बिगाड देती है. आश्रित को चाहिये चिंता न करे; चिंता करने से आश्रयदाता का अपमान होता है ।
Worry is borne from the body, it lives in the heart and ruins one’s life. Aashrit tells us not to worry; by worrying, we are disrespecting our guru.

आदमी को तीन काम करना चाहिये:
- देह सेवा
- देव सेवा
- देश सेवा

A person should do three things:
- service of the body
- service of God
- service of the country

कथा सुने उसको स्वर्ग नहि मिलता; कथा सुने उसको स्व मिलता है ।
He who listens to katha does not achieve heaven; he who listens to katha gets his own self.

रावन को समझने के लिए परम उदार द्रष्टि चाहिए ।
To understand Rāvan, you need supreme intellect/ vision.

हनुमानजी जितना रावण को समझ पाए इतना अंगद नहीं समझ पाया.
हनुमानजी रावण में भी राम को देखते है ।

As much as Hanumanji understood Rāvan, Angad did not understand him.
Hanumanji was able to see Rām even in Rāvan.

एवरेष्ट को पाने के लिये स्पर्धा चाहिये; कैलास को पाने के लिये श्रद्धा चाहिये ।
Competition is needed to reach the Everest; faith is needed to reach Kailas.

सदगुरु जितना शिष्य को जानता है इतना विश्व मे कोइ नहि जानता ।
Noone in the world knows the disciple as well as his Sadguru.

कथा आदमी का रंग नहीं बदलती है, रस बदलती है ।
Katha does not change the nature of a person; rather, it changes his interest.


मानस जोगसूत्र, हरिद्वार कथा - Manas Jogsutra, Haridwar Katha

जिसके जीवन में सत्य आए उसके जीवन में समर्पण आ ही जाता है. प्रेम और त्याग को सीखना हो तो मैं पूरे जगत को प्रार्थना करु की रामायण से सीखो ।
In whosoever's life there is truth, that person gets full surrenderance. If you want to learn and understand love and sacrifice, then I pray to the world learn this from the Ramayana.

जगत को प्रभावित करना आसान है, जगत को प्रकाशित करना बहुत मुश्किल है ।
It is very easy to impress the world, but difficult to enlighten the world.

मानस के आधार पर पाच देवो की वंदना:
१) गणेश वंदना यानी विवेक में जीना.
२) सूर्य वंदना यानी उज्जाले (प्रकाश) में जीना.
३) विष्णु वंदना यानी व्यापकता में जीना.
४) दुर्गा वंदना यानी श्रद्धा बनाए रखना.
५) शिव वंदना यानी दूसरो का कल्याण हो ऎसी सोच रखना.
यही एक सेतु-बंध है, यही योग है ।

 

દેવ શ્રાપ આપે પણ ગુરુદેવ શ્રાપ આપીજ ના શકે. એના સ્વભાવ મા કરુણાજ હોય છે ।
God can give punishment but Gurudev can never punish; he only has compassion.


मानस - विचरति जति, एंडला कथा - Manas - Vicharti Jati, Endla Katha

કન્યા ની ભ્રુણહત્યા ના થવિ જોઇએ. સ્ત્રી ભ્રુણહત્યા સમાજ માથી બંધ થાય. જેને ઘરે પહેલા દિકરી જન્મે એને બહુ મોટો ઉત્સવ કરવો જોઇએ કે મારે ઘરે નવ દુર્ગા માથી કોઇ એક દુર્ગા ના પગલા થયા ।
Female infanticide should not happen and should stop in society. The birth of a girl as a firstborn is worthy of celebration - that the daughter is the manifestation of one of the nine durgas.

દિકરો જન્મે અને થાળી વગાડો સારી વસ્તુ છે પણ દિકરી જન્મે એના જેવુ કોઇ શુકન નથી. સમજદારી હોય તો ભગવાન પાસે માંગવુ કે મારે ખોડે પહેલી દિકરી જન્મે. જોગ માયા છે, જગદંબા છે. કન્યા નો મહિમા અદભૂત છે ।
It is of course good to celebrate when a boy is born, but there is no good fortune (shukand) equal to a the birth of a girl. The right wisdom would lead one to pray for the firstborn to be a girl. She is jogmaya. She is Jagadamba. The depth and significance of a daughter is extraordinary.

मानस गुरुपद, नडियाद कथा - Manas Gurupad, Nadiad Katha

સુખ દુ:ખ થી પર થઈ જવાય એવી ઘટના ગુરુ ના આશ્રય થી બનતી હોય છે ।
When you surrender to a Guru, you become detached/ liberated from the feelings of happiness and sorrow.


ભગવાન ની કથા મા જે નિમિત બને છે એ શંકર ના ધન્યવાદ ને પાત્ર બને છે ।
Whosoever is instrumental (yajmān) in organising a katha becomes worthy of Shankar Bhagwan's appreciation.


બુદ્ધિ હમેશા કારણો શોધે છે, પણ હ્રદય એક એવુ ક્ષેત્ર છે જે કારણ મા માનતુ જ નથી. એને ભાવ દ્રશ્ટિ કહે છે; જીવન મા ભાવ દ્રશ્ટિ ખુબજ જરુરી છે ।
Your mind always looks for reasons, but the heart is one such realm that does not believe in reasons. This is called having a vision with bhāv; such a vision in life is very necessary.


શિષ્ય ને વિભુતિ બનાવી દે તે ગુરુ ।
He who transforms the student into vibhuti is Guru.

સાધુ નો સંગ હોય એને સ્વર્ગ ની જરુર ના પડે ।

ગીતા જયંતિ સંદેશ ૨૦૧૦
ભગવદ ગીતા મા સત્ય, પ્રેમ અને કરૂણા ની વાત:
સત્ય : આ શબ્દ નો ગીતા મા ૫ વાર ઉલ્લેખ
૧. ભાવ ના અર્થ મા, ૧૦મો અધ્યાય શ્લોક ૪-૫, આ બધા પ્રાણિઓ ના ભાવો જે છે મારામાથિ (કૃષ્ણ) પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે. આ શ્લોક મ આવેલા ભાવો અહિંસા વગેરે એ બધા.
૨. દૈવિ ગુણ ના રૂપ મા, ૧૬મો અધ્યાય બિજો શ્લોક. જગત ગુણ દોશમાય એક નો સ્વીકાર ને બિજા નો અસ્વીકાર ન કરી શકાય. ક્યાંક માન તો ક્યાંક અપમાન પણ આવે ક્યાંક અતિ સ્વીકાર તો ક્યાંક અસ્વીકાર પણ આવે.
૩. નિવૃત્તિ ને પ્રવૃત્તિ ને જાણતા નથી એને પવિત્રતા, સદાચાર, ની ભાન નથી ને સત્ય ની ખબર નથી. સમ્યક રિતેય જે જણે કયુ આચરણ કરવા જેવુ ને કયુ ન કરવા જેવુ એ પ્રવૃત્તિ નિવૃત્તિ ને જાણવુ.
૪. વાન્ગમય તપ ના અર્થ મા, અધ્યાય ૧૭મો ૧૫મો શ્લોક. એવી વાણિ જેનાથી કોઇ ને ઉદ્વેગ ન થાય જે અપ્રિય ન હોય ને હિત નુ નુક્સાન ન કરે એવી વાણિ બોલવા નુ તપ એ સત્ય.
૫. પ્રતિગ્યા રૂપે, ૧૮મો અધ્યાય ૬૫મો શ્લોક. જે મને પોતાનુ મન આપસે, મારુ યજન કરસે મને નમન કરસે એ મને પ્રિય ને એનુ રક્ષણ કરીશ.

પ્રેમ : શબ્દ નથી ગીતા મા પણ કૃષ્ણ ના પ્રત્યેક નિર્ણય ના મૂળ મા પ્રેમ.
કરૂણા : ૧૨મો અધ્યાય અદ્વેશ્ટ સર્વ ભૂતનામ ... કરૂણ છૂપી ન રાખી શકાય યદિ મુખ કછુ બોલે નહિ ।

 

સ્વીકાર બધા નો કરો પણ તમારી નિષ્ઠા મા અટલ રહો ।
Accept everyone, but remain firm in your faith/ devotion
 
ભજન કરનારે કોઈ દિવસ એમ ન વિચારવુ કે મારે ત્યાં જવુ છે. આપણે ક્યાં જવુ છે એ ભજન ને નક્કી કરવા દો ।
He who does bhajan should not think and decide where he wants to go. Let bhajan decide where you want to go.
 
સંકિર્ણ થવુ એ મૌત છે જ્યારે વ્યાપક થવુ એ જીવન છે ।
To be sankirna is death whereas to be vyapak is life.
 
ધર્મ એ એટલો નાનો નથી કે એનો પ્રચાર કરવો પડે. ગીતા ના ન્યાયે એની પ્રસ્થાપના કરવાની હોય છે કારણ કે એનો પ્રચાર કરવાથી ક્યાંક આપણે મોત બની જઈએ અને ધર્મ ને નાનો સમજીએ ।

ત્યાગ કરતા સ્વીકાર વધારે મોટુ છે. આપણી પાસે ત્યાગ કરવા જેવુ છે શું? પણ સ્વિકારવા માટે આખી દુનિયા છે. ત્યાગ ની ગણતરી થાય પણ સ્વીકાર ની કેમ નઈ જ્યારે કેટલુ સ્વિકારવા મા આવ્યુ હોય ।
Acceptance is greater than sacrifice. What have we even got that we can sacrifice? But to accept, we have the whole world. If sacrifices are counted, then why are acceptances also not counted when there is so much that is being accepted.

करुना में किया जाए वो ही सही में कर्म है. बिना करुना सब केवल क्रिया है ।
Whatever action is performed with karuna (compassion) is truly karma; without karuna, it is all merely kriya

Sant
  • Who is a sant?

    • Aarthik samasya - providing food to people
    • Dhaarmik samasya - dharma is not there to create problems but to solve them. They say that the best government is one which has least faults and vices; this should never become the case in dharma i.e. whichever dharma is least bad is better. Just like Shankar Bhagwaan has three eyes, so does dharma have three rup (forms) – satya, prem and karuna. Dharma tyaag ka paryaay hona chaahye. (Manas Marjaada, Dubai, 2008)
  • A saadhu does not see anyone as a dushman (enemy). Meerabai’s family were her enemies but she did not see them as that. (Manas Marjaada, Dubai, 2008)

Sadguru
  • Bapu says, I am not dharmavaadi, nor am I arthavaadi, nor am I kaamvaadi or mokshavaadi. I am only premvaadi. I am not anyone’s guru. You are all my shrotaas (listeners) and I have love for you. (Manas Marjaada, Dubai, 2008)
  • The way to spiritual truth must be a combination of the aspirant's sadhana (efforts) and sadguru's karuna (grace). By far, the easiest path is the name of the Lord.

Devotion
  • Once bhakti (devotion) is attained, then greed, ego and delusion do not give trouble and the thief of desire will not bother us.
  • Awareness about the one in whose feet we have absolute faith is a sign of devotion.
  • He who has been enlightened in the path of devotion won't see anybody as sinner in the entire world and even amongst all living creatures.
  • Perform worldly duty with complete sincerity in such a way that our conscience remains crystal clear. This duty can become a medium to experience the supreme. There is no need to change our work or our place, provided that our life is full of faith and dedication towards the divine.
Duty
  • A wife must have maryada and a husband must have vivek. Vivek and maryada are married to one another (daampatya).
  • Do earn money, but try to also earn some time.
  • What we need is a steady mind that does not swing like a pendulum between past and future.
  • If an old man or woman is working in your house, then give respect to them. Call them 'tame'. Call an old woman 'mā'. What if we were in that position in some other life.
  • It is important to have satya (truth) in your speech, but it’s also important to have satya in your thoughts. You might say ‘sit here’ to somebody, but in your mind, you might be cursing him. So satya in your thoughts is also necessary.
Fear
  • Don't live in fear of what people will say. There is no need to be superstitious. I'm not trying to break your faith but this is what I think.
  • Weddings may take place at any time of the day and on any day of any month. Instead of looking at the graha (stars), look at one’s anugraha (blessings, divine grace).
  • So many people live in fear. If they don't do a fast or pooja, what will happen? Is this what religion is about? To make you live in fear? Dharma should be shaurya.
Others
  • Righteous intellect recognises the distinction between the right and wrong actions, like the difference between milk and water.
  • A person who feels pain from another’s suffering does not feel pain from his or her own suffering.
  • First of all there should be improvement in a person. From that, the society will improve. And from society, the nation will improve.
  • Sangraam (conflict) denotes a tree of war. Its root is dwesh (hatred), its stem anger, the branches are the negative inclinations of mind, the leaves the instability of the mind and the fruit is violence.
  • Japa is a yagna. Within this yagna, the tulsi mala is sameedh (wood), tears are aahuti (offering), devotion is ghee (igniting element) and mamta (attachment) is sacrifice.
  • Satsang gives rise to a person's mati (positive intellect), keerati (fame), gati (right path of progress), bhooti (fortune), bhalaai (goodness) as well as vivek (wisdom).
  • The supreme power is omnipresent in the creation, but it can also be said that the omnipresent itself has taken the form of the creation.
